MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS TO SHINE AT NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE TALENT SHOW
The Department of Neighborhoods will host the 13th Neighborhood Pride Talent Show on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at the Pythian Theater in the King Arts Complex at 6 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public.
The talent showcase will feature 6th, 7th and 8th graders from Heritage Middle School, Sherwood Middle School, Siebert Elementary 6th graders, South High School 7th and 8th graders, and Wedgewood Middle School – all located within the 2018 Neighborhood Pride areas.
The top performers were selected from each school’s auditions. Since then, the students dedicated their Saturdays to working with arts professionals on their solo and group performances. In addition, students pledge to be good citizens and give back community service hours to their neighborhoods.
“I am extremely proud of these young people for sharing their talents with the community,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “I look forward to their contributions as future leaders in our great city.”
Department of Neighborhoods Director Carla Williams-Scott said, “The young people in our community are truly our future. Through programs like the Neighborhood Pride Talent Show we get to further connect them with their neighborhoods and our city. We are immensely proud of their work and dedication.”
