Kick Off - Mayor Ginther's Reimagining Small Business Initiatives

Please join Mayor Andrew J. Ginther as he announces the launch of the city’s small business and entrepreneurship-based economic development strategic planning process.  This process aims to identify and address key opportunities for advancements in how the City of Columbus engages in and supports inclusive economic development via small business and entrepreneurial activities.  This event will feature an economic panel discussion entitled: “Building a City-Sponsored Small Business Ecosystem."  Please see details below.

Panelists:

Steve Schoeny, Director of Development, City of Columbus: “Reimaging the Department of Development’s Role in the Small Business Ecosystem.”

Yasuyuki (Yas) Motoyama, Assistant Professor of City and Regional Planning, The Ohio State University: Research-based perspective on city, metro, and regional entrepreneurship and ecosystem development based on his former role as Director of Policy and Research with the Kaufman Foundation.

Inna Kinney, Founder and CEO, Enterprise Community Development Institute (ECDI):  Impacts and outcomes of public investments in local entrepreneurship from job creation, economic inclusion and neighborhood regeneration perspective.

Kristy Campbell, Chief Operating Officer, Rev1 Ventures:  Company's mission to help diverse entrepreneurs build great companies. Tapping into her longevity in the industry, she helps guide founding teams in their critical first phases of growth to expedite their success and ensure they are poised for scalable growth.

Letha Pugh, Co-owner, Bake Me Happy, LLC:  Navigating the small business landscape of Central Ohio.

Charisse Conanan Johnson, Partner, Next Street , LLC:  Value propositions in performing small business ecosystem assessments and evaluations.   Next Street will also elaborate on work output, engagement process, timelines, and anticipated outcomes as well as address any questions.
